Have you ever tried SALVIA? If so, you should be wondering "what the hell just happened to me"? If not , you should have watched at least one of the thousands of videos on you-tube of people who had just smoked salvia divinorum. Why they are screaming and acting like freaks? What do they see?
In this article I will answer these questions and share with you my personal experience with salvia divinorum.
First let's share some facts. Salvia divinorum has been used as a cure by the shamans in Mexico from times immemorial. The shamans used to smoke the herb
or chew it's leaves to communicate with spirits and predict the future too. Some experiments with salvia later on, indicate it's psychological influence on the human brain, due to salvinorin A content in the plant. Salvinorin A is known to be the most powerful hallucinogen synthesized naturally. It penetrate in human constitution trough the mucous membrane of the mouth and the shamans usually took from 20 to 60 leaves at once. Nowadays you can find an extract of the plant in concentration from 5x to 50x. This means one gram of the extract is made from 5 (5x) to 50 kilos (50x) of fresh leaves. The higher the extract - the stronger the effect.
Salvia can not be compared to any drug in the world! There is not a single case of any kind of addiction to the plant or any case of overdose. But the effects of salvia divinorum are stronger than any other hallucinogen ever known by science. The molecule of the plant is not even similar to the molecules of other hallucinogens and it's influence comes trough different ways and touch different senses than the LSD or the shrooms, for example. The effect of the substance lasts in about 5 minutes but the experience may seems much longer for the user.
The most interesting fact about this herb is that when smoked it induces dissociative effects (losing the connection body-consciousness-personality). It's very hard to explain because a normal person can not imagine how his body can separate from the personality or the opposite.
All that made me curious about this plant, so I made an experiment:
I bought 1 gram salvia divinorum extract 35x. At first I rolled a cigarette and smoked a little bit. I felt that some kind of energy stretched my head back. It wasn't pleasant at all. After a while I started laughing without a reason. Obviously the thing that I bought was like weed or at least was not what I expected. Despite all ,on the other day I decided to continue the experiment.
This time I put the extract in a bong and invited some friends of mine to share the experience. I took the smoke in my mouth and kept it there. The taste was strange but the effect - much more! After some seconds I felt so strange that I wanted to tell the others not to try it, because it's not what we thought this was. But I couldn't. The only word that was coming from my mouth was "you.., you ..,you" I felt unable to talk. This time it was much different from my first try, so I got a little bit scared and excited at the same time. In fact I just don't remember to had relieved the smoke from my mouth.
Different objects started to appear and replaced the reality. I saw colors unknown and unimaginable. My thoughts matched another questions and the meaning of life became different to me. All I've ever known disappeared and I started to see the "other world". Even my memories were replaced by someone elses memories.
It was so beautiful that my fear vanished and I started to explore the new world. My senses were different, like I was able to feel everything and much more than everything. The fear, the happiness, the sadness just didn't existed there. I felt different feelings from the feelings known by me since then.
I remember a crystal river that I tried to jump over to get to the other side. It seemed much more real than the reality. Unexpected, unexplainable and gorgeous! Like I was in the most beautiful dream I've ever had. But it wasn't a dream ,it was a whole world with all the details, like I was insane for some time or I was able to see the things that the reality couldn't reveal to me as I was normal.
After some time (I can't tell you how much exactly), I felt like electricity came trough my
body and put my personality back in it. Damn it! It was over.Like puzzle parts, the fragments of the reality came together in front of me and I slowly started to see the room in which everything started and my friends. At the beginning I couldn't remember that I've smoked something and couldn't understand where I was. I felt reborn, like they say. It toke me a couple of minutes to recover consciousness and remember my life.
It was exactly what they say about salvia. I couldn't believe it! I had a trip out of my body!
Is it possible to travel out of your body? This usually takes years of hard psychological trainings and I've red so many useless books about how I can manage to do it. Now I had succeeded without an effort! You can control your trip and visit places that you have always wanted to visit in the real life. It's all true. But you should be prepared and you shouldn't be scared.
This was a parallel world that I am absolutely sure, I couldn't create it by my imagination. The word for this was not a hallucination. It was a trip beyond.
My curiosity was torturing me so badly! I couldn't resist to reveal the mystery around this herb! I contacted with people from different countries who had tried Salvia Divinorum and this is what I found out:
People who have smoked salvia have seen similar things, but there is one thing that almost everyone have seen - the Lady. The Lady is the symbol of this magic plant. But she is seen even by users who don't know anything about salvia. They all describe her at the same way: friendly, wise, with black hair. It is impossible for them to imagine something they have never heard about.
The effects of salvia include hallucination experiences and visions. But how is it possible different people, with different lives to experience similar things? Many users had experienced trips that they determine as merging with or becoming objects, revisiting places from childhood memories, being pulled or twisted by forces, being in several locations at once, staying in purgatory, in hell, in paradise and so on.
Some say these visions are due to religion belief... BUT why do they see a Lady, but not the God? I have always known the God should be a Lady! =) Is there a life after death? Has Salvia something in common with the different dimensions reached by hypnosis? Salvia raised so many questions in my mind but I still have a lack of explanation.
Twenty five percent of salvia users describe the effects as the effects of yoga or meditation. There are several cases of using salvia divinorum as a use of self-medicated treatment for depression and other mental deceases.
This is the question of the universe: Is salvia a gate to the beyond or it just confuses you mind?
I think salvia is a holy plant that may open your mind to the overlapping realities that really exist somewhere beyond our human life. Maybe the life after death is somewhere there. It exists and it looks like a salvia trip.
Despite all, many people who have tried salvia don't want to do it again. Maybe this experience is too intensive for a normal human being. Maybe salvia is too different, too hard, too strong for our mentality.
Is this our fear from the unknown or it is our answer to the question "Is there a life after death?" I'll leave that to you.
Salvia divinorum is legal almost all over the world. If you ever try Salvia, don't forget to be with someone who won't smoke. The quiet open spaces in the nature are the most appropriate for such an experience.
If you have any questions, post them as a comment and I'll be happy to answer!
